Capability Uplift

Building Confidence and Capability in Business Analysis

CIDI began this piece of work with a collaborative discovery workshop to understand what was working well and where the pain points were. Using story mapping, we helped the team identify and prioritise the topics they most wanted to cover, which shaped an eight-part workshop series. The sessions covered delivery process, roles and responsibilities, the double diamond approach, backlog management, user stories, collaboration tools, and basic data analysis. Each workshop combined theory, practical examples, discussion, and useful resources for further learning.

The BA community was working in a relatively low-maturity delivery environment, with inconsistent approaches and a clear need to build capability, confidence, and shared ways of working across the team.

The team grew in confidence and capability, and the workshops helped build a more consistent and collaborative approach to Business Analysis. They were well received, encouraged knowledge sharing, and gave people practical tools they could use straight away in their own projects.

If you’re looking to lift capability within your teams in a practical, sustainable way, we can help design programmes that are grounded in real work—not just theory.
